Scope of Work: Exterior granite plaza paving, ramp paving and stair cladding, benches, water-jet cutting

- Kenoran Sage Granite – 3cm – Thermal finish benches and stair cladding 5cm – Thermal finish plaza paving over mortar bed with caulked joints
- Cambrian Black Granite – 5cm – Thermal finish ‘world map’ paving
Description:
The General Motors River Front and winter-garden plaza project consists of over 40,000 sf of granite paving. The flamed finished stair treads, ramps, and paving allow hundreds of local downtown workers and residents to enjoy a beautiful plaza with a view of the Detroit River while eating their lunch or watching one of the many local concert series.
The paving includes a world map fabricated from pieces cut on a water-jet machine and dry fit in the factory to ensure a quality installation. Lights are placed in the map in locations of all of the GM plants throughout the world.
